Text & Lists
Reverse Text
Reverse the order of characters or text items.
This tool runs open-source code from OmniTools (MIT License). See open-source credits.
Reverse Text reverses the order of separated items. With commas as both separators, red, green, blue becomes blue, green, red. It keeps the letters inside each item unchanged. Use an empty split separator only when you intend to reverse individual UTF-16 code units.
The output contains the separated items in reverse order, joined with Output separator. This operation does not sort the items.
- Reverse a sequence of labels without changing their spelling.
- Turn a newest-first list into an oldest-first list.
- Reverse rows after selecting the actual row separator.
Instructions
- Enter red, green, blue in Input list.
- Select symbol under Split input with. Set Split separator and Output separator to a comma.
- Run the tool. Check that the result is blue, green, red before copying it.
Example
Input: first,second,third
Settings: Split input with: Symbol, Split separator: , and Output separator: ,
Result: third,second,first
Only the item order changes. Each item keeps its own text and spacing.
Limits
- Symbol splitting preserves empty items. Consecutive separators therefore affect the result.
- Regex splitting removes empty items. It can produce a different result from symbol splitting.
- An empty separator can break emoji and other characters represented by multiple UTF-16 code units.
