Text & Lists
palindrome Builder
Create palindrome from the supplied input and options. Enter the text, set the transformation rules, then copy the result.
This tool runs open-source code from OmniTools (MIT License). See open-source credits.
palindrome Builder: Palindrome Builder appends a reversed copy of your text to create a mirrored sequence. With Repeat the final character enabled, abc becomes abccba. Disable that setting to produce abcba. This tool builds a palindrome; it does not check whether the original text is one.
The result contains the original text followed by its reverse. The center setting decides whether to duplicate the final character.
- Build small palindrome examples for a lesson or test.
- Create mirrored labels while keeping the original text at the start.
- Generate one mirrored result for each line of sample text.
Instructions
- Enter abc in the text input.
- Enable Repeat the final character for abccba, or disable it for abcba. Enable Process each line separately for independent lines.
- Run the tool. Compare the center characters and check that spaces and punctuation remain where you expect.
Example
Input: race
Settings: Repeat the final character: on, Process each line separately: off (the defaults)
Result: raceecar
Turn off Repeat the final character to get racecar. The last letter then appears once, in the middle.
Limits
- The tool keeps case, spaces, and punctuation. It does not normalize phrases or remove separators.
- Reversal uses UTF-16 code units. Emoji and characters with combining marks can produce broken or unexpected results.
- Without Process each line separately, the tool reverses line breaks along with the rest of the input.
