This tool runs open-source code from CyberChef by GCHQ (Apache License 2.0). See open-source credits.

CTPH hashes Comparator uses fuzzy-hash comparison for the supplied input. It calls ctph.js similarity and returns a numeric similarity score from 0 to 100.

It calls ctph.js similarity and returns a numeric similarity score from 0 to 100. This result runs in the browser for this catalog category. Processing runs in the browser.

Fuzzy-hash comparison estimates similarity; it does not provide collision-resistant identity or authenticity.

Instructions

  1. Provide text or data for this tool.
  2. Retain the generated CTPH strings rather than the original document text. This applies to CTPH hashes Comparator.
  3. Remove a trailing extra delimiter, which creates a third sample. This applies to CTPH hashes Comparator.

Example

Input: Generate two public samples with the CTPH operation, then place their hashes on separate lines.

Settings: CTPH hashes Comparator: Choose a newline Delimiter for a two-line input. Supply exactly two hashes from the ctph.js-compatible generator.

Result: It calls ctph.js similarity and returns a numeric similarity score from 0 to 100.

Limits

  • CTPH hashes Comparator: The CTPH generator and comparator must use compatible formats.
  • CTPH hashes Comparator: The score is not a cryptographic identity check or proof of common authorship.
