URL, NetBIOS, SSH, and VarInt tools
These tools prepare URL text and interpret protocol fields; they do not test a live network connection.

Prepare a URL for a report or request
Use URL Defanger when you need to place a suspicious address in an incident report. Its substitutions reduce accidental activation; they do not establish whether the address is malicious. For a query value, choose Encode in URL Encoder and Decoder. Enable Encode all special chars before adding that value to a request URL. Keep that option off when URL separators must remain intact. Defanging and percent encoding serve different destinations.
- URL DefangerDefang URLs and domains for incident reports in your browser. https://example.com becomes hxxps[://]example[.]com so apps stop linking it.
- URL Encoder and DecoderPercent-encode text as UTF-8 or decode %XX escapes. Choose whether + means a space and whether URL punctuation such as & and = is encoded.
Inspect a name field or host key
NetBIOS Name Encoder encodes a name into the NetBIOS representation. Its fixed offset produces the A–P encoding alphabet. It does not resolve the name or contact a host. Use SSH Host Key Parser when inspecting a changed server key. Confirm that key through a trusted channel before updating your connection trust settings.
Decode one variable-length integer
VarInt Decoder reads an unsigned integer from encoded bytes. Paste the field bytes, not a decimal rendering of the expected value. A Protobuf message also contains tags and other fields; this decoder does not interpret the complete message. Read the binary encoding guide for continuation bits and the worked unsigned LEB128 example.
