CSV Separator Changer
Change a CSV delimiter, such as semicolon to comma, in your browser. Parses quoted cells line by line and can quote every output field.
This tool runs open-source code from OmniTools (MIT License). See open-source credits.
The parser reads each line separately, removes CSV quoting, and joins cells with the selected separator.
The result contains the converted rows. Remove empty lines drops blank rows; Comment prefix removes matching comment lines.
- Convert semicolon CSV from a European-locale spreadsheet export to comma CSV.

Choose separators without breaking quoted cells
- Set Input separator and Output separator.
- For tab output, paste a real tab character.
- Enable Quote every output field when a cell contains the new separator.
- Quoted fields cannot span lines.
- The parser trims surrounding cell spaces.
- Quote every output field does not escape quotes inside cells. Use another converter when cells contain quotes.
A comma inside a quoted field
Input: item,note pen,"blue, fine" ink,refill
Settings: Input separator: , and Output separator: ; (the defaults)
Result: item;note pen;blue, fine ink;refill
The output drops the quotes around blue, fine. Its comma is plain text once semicolons separate fields.
