ASN.1 hex string Parser
Read ASN.1 hex string input and show its structured details. Enter the key material, choose the required format, then review the result.
This tool runs open-source code from CyberChef by GCHQ (Apache License 2.0). See open-source credits.
ASN.1 hex string Parser performs ASN.1 hexadecimal tree inspection for the supplied key or certificate data. It displays the nested ASN.1 structure; the fixture contains a sequence with integer 1.
It displays the nested ASN.1 structure; the fixture contains a sequence with integer 1. This result runs in the browser for this catalog category. Processing runs in the browser.
Conversion and parsing preserve or display key data; they do not create trust, authorization, or certificate validation.
Instructions
- Provide text or data for this tool.
- Use hexadecimal bytes, not PEM armor. This applies to ASN.1 hex string Parser.
- Increase the truncation setting when a long octet value needs inspection. This applies to ASN.1 hex string Parser.
Example
Input: Use DER hex "3003020101", Starting index 0, and octet-string truncation 32.
Settings: ASN.1 hex string Parser: Starting index selects the position in the hexadecimal representation. Truncate octet strings longer than limits the displayed octet content.
Result: It displays the nested ASN.1 structure; the fixture contains a sequence with integer 1.
Limits
- ASN.1 hex string Parser: A structure dump is not application-specific certificate validation.
- ASN.1 hex string Parser: Truncated display content is not proof that the underlying bytes are absent.
